Mastery Connect is part online assessment tool, part exchange service (like Teachers Pay Teachers), and part social media platform. It allows you to create assessments based on standards, and WCPSS has partnered with the organization to pull in Case21 (benchmark) questions. What's more: you can even link it to Gradecam and use your laptop's webcam to grade assignments! Here's a brief overview:
Nearpod takes presentations to the next level; it's interactivity makes it a unique app that allows teachers to create presentations that can contain Quizzes, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content, and more. Check out the videos below to get started!
In this video, Mrs. Dillingham outlines the way in which teachers and staff at Wendell Middle should properly take IEP minutes while in a meeting. EVAAS stands for Educational Value-Added Assessment System and is used across NC to, among other things, predict student achievement using past achievement data. At the end of each school year, teachers need to verify their rosters to make sure their aren't any discrepancies between students that appear on teachers rosters, and the reality that played out over the course of the school year. Here's how you do that. Google Drive and saving files to the cloud offer some of the most powerfully convenient ways of accessing your content. But it's important to know the ramifications of each of the "sharing" options you have at your disposal. In the video below, I talk briefly about what "the cloud" actually is, how we got here, and how to navigate the options you have through Google Drive. Dr. Lodge McCammon of NC State University has developed a simple, accessible, 1-take video method of flipping classrooms. Helping teachers flip their classrooms increases classroom efficiency, but more than that, it offers a way for educators to reclaim the mantle of "expert" in the modern world where Google and other search engines have become the go-to sources of information.
